CESPA has two major fund-raising events every year: The Flea Market around November and the Summer Fete in the last term. These two popular events take place at School and are for the children, parents and staff. The aim is to have fun and raise funds to buy additional items for the school to benefit the children. Recent examples of expenditure include £6,000 spent on a Primary Resource Centre, £6,000 on Sports Equipment and £6,000 on a sound system for the Schuman Hall.

Traditionally the Summer Fête is the bigger of the two major fund-raising events and in Summer 2007, CESPA raised £7,000. It is similar to the Flea Market but organised on a far bigger scale, involving many parents in weeks of preparation and co-operation before the big day.
A BBQ, bar, cake stalls, waffles, icecream and crêpes keep the wolf from the door whilst activities such as a bouncy castle, magician, face-painting, penalty shoot-out and creative activities keep everyone occupied. There is usually a jumble sale and a bookstall and an enthusiastic photographer to catch you unawares. Performances in music or drama from various school-related groups are a major attraction and whatever the British weather, it is a great day of co-operation and team-work across the range of nationalities, languages, ages and backgrounds of our dynamic school community.
Every autumn, halls at School are filled with tables and stands for everyone to buy and sell second-hand books, videos, toys, games and good quality clothing. Money paid by families to rent a table to sell their surplus stuff is added to CESPA funds. CESPA also has its own tables to sell refreshments – delicious cakes, savoury delicacies and other mouth-watering goodies. CESPA also has its own table to try to find homes for items from Lost Property and also sell them if things were not collected. For the last few years we aslo had a hall where local people could hire a table to sell crafts and christmas cards etc.
There is a raffle of Christmas Hampers with donated items from each language section.
**This year's Flea Market was on the 17th November 2007. It was a Great Success. We raised £1611 this year, a bumper year. (2006 was £1450, and 2005 was £1358 ) Well done everyone!
When the annual school fees invoice is sent, parents are asked to contribute to CESPA on a voluntary basis. The current requested contribution is £17 per family. Funds received support all CESPA’s activities. Without CESPA there would be no Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA), Publication of Europarent and Culham Calling, Primary Resource Centre, School sound system.
Apart from annual major projects such as mentioned above, CESPA funds are also used to give grants and help where needed. Regular grants are given to support sporting events, school plays and school trips. The main criteria are that the grant benefits as large a proportion as possible of the school. Decisions are usually made during the monthly CESPA meetings. To apply for a grant, please fill in the attached form: Grantapplicationform.pdf
